Catalog Notes

Catalog notes

SCI Skills is a research-oriented skill directory. It keeps public source links, research use cases, and clear boundaries so you can find a relevant skill quickly and continue with the original repository.

What this directory is for

We prioritise skills that directly help with literature work, writing, reproducibility, life-science workflows, and training or evaluation.

How pages are written

The directory focuses on fast scanning. Detail pages keep only the essential summary, boundaries, and links back to the original source.

Source statement

SCI Skills does not redefine the original skill. Full capability descriptions, installation, maintenance, and licensing remain with the upstream source.

Preferred

  • Skills with clear research use, boundaries, and upstream documentation.
  • Skills that can be traced to public repositories or original directories.
  • Skills that save real time across literature, experiments, data, models, or writing.

Not included

  • Entries without a public source or only second-hand packaging copy.
  • Entertainment-only or generic productivity content with weak research relevance.
  • Entries that cannot explain provenance, scope, or maintenance state.
